Pentiment is a uniquely stylized 16th-century murder mystery game that might take you by surprise.
The game is played out on the pages of a book, each scene on a page and styled with medieval artistry and much to be discovered.
You play Andreas Maler, an artist who happens to find themselves entwined within a series of unalivings (murders), and every choice you make has an impact on Andreas' backstory and how the story unfolds.
One of the first things you will notice with Pentiment is that gameplay is made up primarily of wordplay. Every interaction gives you multiple choices on how you respond verbally and will impact what happens next, and things can get wildly out of control. After a few hours hands on over the last week, we are loving the very different approach Pentiment has taken to deliver its vision without worrying about current trends in gaming and urge you to give this one a go asap. You won't regret it!
