News has emerged overnight that Microsoft is cutting down jobs, and 10,000 people are being laid off. This comes after a fury of lay-offs in the tech industry with concerns of an economic slowdown. Microsoft has stated that the layoffs affect about 5 per cent of its employee base. Despite the layoffs, Microsoft has stated they will still be hiring for key strategic areas and currently have a focus on building a new computer platform using AI technology.
