Microsoft Shuts Down Studios, Focuses on Big Games

Bethesda Shut Downs

Microsoft has closed several Bethesda game studios to focus on "high-impact" titles. The closures include Arkane Austin, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog Studios, and Roundhouse Studios.

This decision means the cancellation of any future updates for Redfall, which was being developed by Arkane Austin.

However, Microsoft has assured fans that they will still honour purchases of the Redfall Hero DLC.

Tango Gameworks, the creators of Hi-Fi Rush, will not be affected and the game will still be available. Roundhouse Studios will be absorbed into ZeniMax Online Studios.

Microsoft says these cuts are necessary to streamline their development process and focus resources on major upcoming games like Starfield and The Elder Scrolls Online. This news comes during a wave of recent layoffs in the video game industry.
