Game On: Razer Powers Up for a Sustainable Future

Go Green with Razer Slogan

Gaming giant Razer has made significant strides towards its 10-year sustainability plan, #GoGreenWithRazer. Announced in celebration of Earth Day 2024, the roadmap outlines Razer's commitment to minimizing its environmental impact across all aspects of its business.

A key highlight is Razer's dedication to using recycled materials. They're restructuring manufacturing to incorporate up to 85% recycled materials into core PC peripherals like mice, keyboards, and headsets. This initiative is projected to see 65% of Razer's annual product shipments made with recycled materials within a year.

Razer's commitment goes beyond its products. They've set ambitious science-based targets validated by the SBTI (Science Based Targets initiative). These targets include a 90% reduction in operational emissions and a 55% intensity reduction in indirect emissions by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline.

To achieve these goals, Razer is implementing a comprehensive strategy. This includes using clean renewable energy, prioritizing eco-friendly transportation, and promoting participation in their take-back and recycling programs. They're also collaborating with suppliers who share their sustainability goals.

For gamers looking to be part of the solution, Razer offers multiple options. They've minimized packaging waste through size optimization, the use of FSC-certified paper, and soy ink. Additionally, Razer provides accessible recycling options and reward programs that incentivize responsible product disposal.

Razer's sustainability efforts extend beyond their own operations. They're actively leading industry-wide initiatives to set new standards for responsible sourcing throughout the gaming industry's supply chain.

With a strong focus on recycled materials, reduced emissions, and responsible practices, Razer is demonstrating its commitment to building a more sustainable future for gamers and the planet.
