Asus ROG Keris II Ace: Ultra-Lightweight Champion? (Review)

Asus Rog Keris II Ace

G'day mates, it's time to revisit the world of gaming mice. You might recall my review of the ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition about a year back. It was a game-changer (pun intended) and left me more than impressed. But the legends at Asus ROG never settle, and here I am with their newest offering, the Keris II Ace. So, is this the new king of my desk, or will the Harpe Ace retain its crown? Buckle up, and let's find out.

Teaming Up for Performance

Just like the Harpe Ace, the Keris II Ace isn't just about the hardware. While it doesn't boast a collaboration with Aim Lab this time, Asus ROG's reputation for quality peripherals precedes itself time and time again.

Taking it for a Spin (or Several Hundred)

After a few games of Fortnite, Valorant, and even some classic CSGO, here's my verdict:

The Keris II Ace is incredibly light, matching the Harpe Ace at its impressive 54 grams while improving on the ergonomics and feel. This makes it fantastic for fast-paced FPS games where lightning-quick flicks and pinpoint precision dominates the competition. It also packs a punch with a 36,000 DPI optical sensor, delivering that same silky-smooth tracking I've come to love so much.

Harpe Ace vs. Keris II Ace: The Showdown

Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. Here's a head-to-head breakdown:

  • Weight: Keris II Ace matches the Harpe Ace's 54 grams. Both are featherweights, and it really makes a difference

  • Sensor: The Keris II Ace boasts a top-tier 42,000 DPI sensor over the Harpe Ace's 36,000 DPI sensor pushing the Keris II Ace to a new level of smoothness.

  • Battery Life: The Keris wins this round with up to a whopping 130+ hours compared to the Harpe's advertised 90+ hours.

  • Connectivity: Both offer wired and wireless options that are easily interchangeable.

  • Grip: This is subjective, but Keris II Ace has some slight changes to the mouse profile, and I find it feels more comfortable. (I have large hands)

The Verdict: A new King in the Pro level gaming mouse scene! Our Score: 9.5/10

Asus thank you card

The Asus ROG Keris II Ace is undeniably a fantastic mouse. It's lightweight, accurate, and feels great in hand. But here's the thing: the Harpe Ace isn't that far behind in terms of performance. The biggest differentiators are the battery life and the body shape changes.

If you crave the absolute smoothest mouse possible for those hyper-competitive flick shots, the Keris II Ace might be your new champion and the only thing holding it back from a solid 10/10 score would be dropping a few grams to push the boundaries further.

Ultimately, the choice depends on your priorities. No matter which one you pick, you're getting a top-tier gaming mouse from Asus ROG. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some ranked matches to play!
